KIDS’ Early Support and Learning Provision (Stamford Children's Centre)

Learning sessions, once a week, at Stamford Children's Centre, for disabled children and those with complex health needs.

How does the service work?Learning sessions last for just under two hours, with additional parent support for an hour, either before or after the learning session.

KIDS’ learning sessions bring parents and carers together with their pre-school children, so that they benefit from the advice and support of other parents, professionals and KIDS’ staff. We ensure that young children and their families feel safe and are warmly welcomed into the learning environment. They are well supported to participate in both structured and free play activities, that will assist communication, concentration, learning, physical, imagination and social skills in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. Our staff are highly trained in order to meet the individual needs of children attending.

Children have the opportunity to explore tactile and sensory experiences to help them to develop a range of skills and they are able to choose activities for themselves.

Who can attend?Parents/carers and families of pre-school children (aged 0-5 years) with disabilities and additional needs

What does the service provide?

The crèche sessions enable parents to have a short break, some time for themselves and their children to have some fun, cared for by our qualified staff.

Our staff offer emotional and practical support, including advice on how best to support the development of children through play and to build the confidence of parents in their own abilities as primary educators. Parents repeatedly tell us that other parents offer the best advice and support. KIDS are happy to facilitate this.
