KIDS a key part of the SEND Anti-Bullying Programme launch

21 November 2014

This Wednesday 19 November saw the Parliamentary launch of the Special Educational Needs and Disability Anti-Bullying Programme, funded by the Department for Education - and some of our young people played a key part!

Olivia Plenty, Jemma Ballinger, Karl Stephenson and Daniel John, all longstanding KIDS service users from the South West, have been involved in the disability anti-bullying programme including development of the Anti-Bullying Week video. Olivia and Jemma were able to attend the launch, and Olivia gace a short speech about her experiences of bullying.

Hosted by Baroness Brinton, Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Bullying, the event highlighted the work of the programme to stop bullying of disabled children and those with special educational needs through training for teachers and other professionals; advice and support for parents and carers, and consultation with children and young people.
