Surrey Quays musical spectacular from Southwark SIBS

28 August 2014

Our young carers at Southwark SIBS had the great experience yesterday of performing their music to shoppers at Southwark Quays Shopping Centre.

The day before, performers from CREATE helped the children to devise their own songs and poems about the possible goings on inside the shopping centre. The group worked together to imagine the weirdest and whackiest of situations. Cue lots of giggles.

Come the day itself, the gang braveley gathered in the centre to show the happy shoppers their masterpiece. The crowd loved it. They even had a visit from the Mayor of Southwark!

Thanks to British Land CR for funding the CREATE ART:SPACE project and giving the kids a chance to express their creative skills at the end of their summer holidays.

The Southwark SIBS project is a group for those living in Southwark, aged between 6 and 14, who help look after a brother or sister with a disability. The kids love getting together with people just like them where they can relax and be themselves. Find out more...
